Here Comes the Sun

A little update on life:

I’ve graduated college. I’m living alone in an empty college town (bc summer) because my parents don’t live in-state anymore. I’m jobless. My lease ends in July, so I may or may not be homeless soon.

While I’m not thrilled about my current situation, I’m not actually in full panic mode either. We’re only a couple weeks into the summer, and I’m really looking forward to the next few months.

Having a job lined up even before graduating is what we all wanted, but I’m starting to realize that maybe it’s not really the dream. This summer may be the only extended period of freedom I have for a long time, so I’ve got hella plans that I can’t wait to share!

Although my life isn’t all I want it to be or the way I expected it to be, there’s always a silver lining. I just gotta find it (or make one myself). This summer’s gonna be my silver lining.

And to kick off, here’s my first summer #ootd!

Because it’s still actually spring and the temperature has been bearable, I wore these super cool high waisted pants from Anthropologie. Ugh, high waisted pants are the best. I’ve got legs for days in these, and the bow detail is a fun, feminine touch. To stay cool, I paired the pants with my classic off the shoulder black top from H&M. It’s super flattering and inexpensive, so I have it in two colors. Perfect for the summer to wear with any bottoms. I’m carrying my Tory Burch bag that I made into a clutch by removing the straps. My shoes are from Steve Madden. Finally, these H&M earrings really dress up the simple outfit and draw more attention to my collarbones.
