In the midst of the holidays and moving (Farewell Augusta!), my #ootd post for this past Sunday never made it live, but you know what they say… Better late than never.
The new year is here, and that means people have made their resolutions to lose weight, to spend less money and spend more time with family/friends. I’ve never been a fan of making resolutions for the new year because let’s face it… The gym will be crowded only til about mid February and calling your mom everyday will turn into every week.
So this year I’m making fashion resolutions:
- Purge my closet every few months of items I keep telling myself I will wear “one day” but never do.
- Wear less black. There’s nothing wrong with wearing black at all, but I find that black is my comfort zone because it’s easy and it’s classic. Be brave this year and step out of my comfort zone in another bold color (gray doesn’t count).
- Be inspired by the people and places around me. My style is a direct representation of myself and what I experience daily. This year, I will continually let my surroundings influence and cultivate my personal style.
If you’re not a big believer in making unrealistic resolutions in hopes that they may or may not turn your entire life around, you can always make smaller, simpler ones. Even if they have nothing to do with fashion or style, the key to becoming a better you is taking baby steps.
To finish off this post, since I didn’t take a new #ootd, here’s my 2016 in #ootds:
Thanks for doing life with moi!
