I’m not a huge fan of impulse shopping. Actually, I’m not a fan at all. Because I like to invest in quality pieces for my wardrobe, I don’t have the fund$ to shop very often. So when I do find something I really really want, I take time to think about it.
- Do I have the money for it right now?
- Do I need it?
- What is the lifespan of the piece? Will it go out of style soon or will it be ruined after one wash?
These seem like pretty common sense questions, but sometimes common sense doesn’t come into play when you’re looking at that cute af $90 Madewell sweater.
Luckily, for me, this white front-tie sweater was on sale at Madewell, which is amazing since I’d been looking at it for about a month online. Madewell has additional 30% off of sale stuff pretty often, AND don’t forget to take advantage of your student discount on top of that, college students!
I’ve also been waiting years (not exaggerating) to get my hands on these Cole Haan Zerogrand Wingtip Oxford shoes, but I never felt like $200 was a feasible price for a broke college student. So TGod I found some at Nordstrom Rack for about 50% off! No regrets at all. They’re so comfortable and so chic.
The Joie jeans and the Argento Vivo collar necklace are both from Nord Rack too! The bag is Q Percy by Marc by Marc Jacobs.
There’s no shame in waiting and buying things on sale. You should take pride in finding good sales! If you feel like you won’t be able to wait for it to go on sale, then maybe you shouldn’t even waste your money on it. Good, timeless pieces will always be worth the wait.
Thanks for doing life with moi!
